About us

My name is Bernadett Bökényi. I've graduated in June 2014 on the university ELTE on two faculties. On ELTE - TáTK as Social Scientist BA and on ELTE - PPK as Sport Manager BSc

Our first dog Lassie - a nearly 15 year old gold-sable female collie - died just before my high scool graduation. Lassie was a real family dog, our best friend. We felt like we do not want to "replace" her in the near future. It would not have been possible. But our yard was too empty without a four-footed inhabitant. I was waiting for my knee surgery's time appointment when my father called, we will check a litter tomorrow. I've already reserved a border at an another place, but it was obvious, that if we will be between puppys, then we will bring one them home with us. Our choice was not related to the famuos intelligence of the species. We simply wanted an english herding dog, but not a collie. I knew that we would look for Lassie in her.

Mary has everything whats specific of her species, she is an incredibly social beeing. As we coudln't accompany her 24/7, we gave this duty to Nesztor. He is the perfect choice for Mary. They live in perfect harmony with each other.
As a former top athlete (member of the national badminton team ) it was obvious for me that first of all we will try out dog sports. Mary led me and Nesztor into the depths of agility. Németh Viki gave us a tremendous amount of help in agility, as we started our career in the agility team of Székesfehérvár. We have also participated on numerous other session outside of  our club and we will go on and continue this, as I always have to develop myself. I always say, that I have to learn more, because the dog knows what she should do, if she gets straightforward signs from me.

I met with my boyfriend for the first time in 2013 on a meeting of a hiking to Transylvania. During the hiking we got so close to each other, that we are already organizing our wedding to 2015. After my graduation we have moved to the countryside with our dogs. I feel very lucky as he supports me in everything to reach my dreams.

I would like to take part in improving the culture of dog keeping. Beginning with the practice, that people should get used to the method of getting dogs from dog shelters or buying their new family member from official breeders. My first two border collies are not from breeders. Back then my main goal was to get a dog who can be used for dog sports and who can be my best friend too. That time I was not aware of the difference of getting a dog from a breeder or not, but today I already know the difference.
Outside of this, beeing a responsible dog keeper does not end with feeding and caressing the dog. Dogs have to be taken outside of the flat or yard and sports should be done with them or even ring dressure too. I strongly believe that this has a positive effect on the whole society.
Now I have a new goal. I'd like to breed healthy dogs, who are suitable for dog sports and dog shows too. However it can be told that, both the border collie and the mudi, are pretty young species and both were bred and used mainly work for purposes before the standards of the species have been layed down. In the breeding my primary goal is to keep both the inner and the outer original characteristics of the species and as a former athlete I want to focus on keeping the workspirit high.
In 2014 after long planning and excited waiting Osis from the Ferenčik kennel became part of our life. With her arrival a big dream starts to come true and I hope that we will be able to complete it out as much as possible.
When Mary and Nesztor moved to us, my parents would have stayed without a dog, this was the first time I met the mudi. People say that there is nothing what describes the border better, then that it is a BORDER and the same can be told about mudis as well, that they are simply MUDI!

(You can get further information about this under Dogs. )

Due to a tragical event in September 2014 Kormosvári-Hajtó Fecske and Kormosvári-Hajtó Száva joined our kennel and life. This helps me to experience how nulticolored mudis are and with Száva's presence the breeding activity of our kennel starts off.

According to my plans Száva will be the founder dam of our kennel's mudi line and Osis will be the founder dam of the border collie line, but there is a long way to go till then...
